It's Alive II

Armed with a broomstick and butchers knife, I went out back to investigate some weird sounds tonight. After I realized what was causing it, I resupplied myself with a flashlight and camera. Gross.

Looks like I have a hostage until the exterminator gets here.

Opossum Update

**UPDATE**

I just saw Dominic (the opossum) heading home for a nocturnal night's (day's) sleep .  He She had two babies on her back!

Since they only live for 2 1/2 years, I was worried that she wouldn't be around much longer (considering how she looked). Hopefully now she'll leave a legacy!

I didn't have the light or the time to take a picture, but hopefully she'll come back with them.

My New Friend

This little guy showed up the other day. I named him Dominic. Since then I have spent the majority of my spare time watching opossum informational videos on YouTube. I have discovered the following:

  • Opossums are very clean - cleaner than raccoons and other varmints
  • Their internal body temperature is too low for them to carry rabies
  • They eat the food that would normally support the rats that live in the north end
  • They only live for 2 1/2 years
  • They are the only marsupial that lives in North America
  • And the way they waddle around in wicked cute

He comes around almost every day at about 6 o'clock or so. Sweet!
